You enter Villa Hermosa
over a short bridge, with tropical foliage planted on the floor below
growing two stories high.
This combination of open front courtyard, all rooms in the house open
to the ocean, and ceiling fans in every room, provides natural cross-ventilation
for the whole house, with cooling breezes the entire year.
Once inside the Villa Hermosa you will feel the spaceous 10,000 sf of warmth
and charm. The maid and house manger will do everything to make your
stay a memorable one. Should you desire a chef we can secure one for
you for a slight additional charge. On this entry level are two large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. All bedrooms are individually air conditioned for your comfort in the summer months. Each bedroom features a king-sized bed, Mexican-tiled nightstands, and two traditional-style Iquipal chairs. The bathrooms, newly redone in elegant Mexican tile, have large shower/baths and storage for bathroom supplies. Each bedroom also has a walk-in closet. This level also has a garage should you choose to rent a car, and outdoor patio space with a large dolphin fountain. The upper level has a massive great room and patio, with views over the entire Bay of Banderas and the jungles beyond the villa. The great room consists of a large living area with an extraordinary cupola with chandelier, a huge stained glass window of a whale breaching, and large Marta Gilbert painting of a Mexican Indian right of passage ceremony; dining area with a parota-wood table seating ten; state-of-the art kitchen with a mural of an idealized Puerto Vallarta beachfront; and, an outdoor terrace area with a 42-inch Lynx gas grill and outdoor dining table seating 4-6 people comfortably. This level also has one of the two master bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. This room has a king-sized bed, ornate wrought iron furniture, a built-in desk and office area with television (Villa Hermosa has DSS satellite television including HBO). There is a second full bath off the great room. The level below the entry level features a second, more intimate living area with large cupola and mural depicting the old silver mining town of San Sebastian; a second state-of-the-art kitchen; a television viewing area; and, a second huge master bedroom with king-sized bed, walk-in closet and office area, and en-suite bathroom. There is a second large bathroom off the hallway with a pelican theme, including etched glass and painted ceiling and walls. This floor has a very large outdoor terrace with a palapa, under which is a massive glass-topped dining table that comfortably seats ten, and a second stainless steel gas barbecue grill. There is also an open interior courtyard which faces the front of the villa, which has a large canterra stone topped planter area with tropical foliage and a dog-with-bone fountain. The staff quarters and laundry facilities are also on this level. Below this level is the pool level featuring a 40-foot solar-heated pool with swim jets for exercising. A spa with waterfall sits over one edge of the pool. The waterfall can be turned on by the mozo, allowing for a beautiful cascading effect. Between the waterfall and pool is an incredible mural depicting an underwater scene in the Bay of Banderas. There is ample outdoor space for sunning on the half-dozen lounge chairs. Next to the pool is Lola's Cantina, a complete bar area for mixing and serving drinks around the pool. There is a powder room off the cantina and a cold-water shower near the pool. On the same level as the pool there is a self-contained suite, with living area, full kitchen, sleeping area with king-sized bed, and full bath. This suite may be rented individually during parts of the year, and has a separate entrance from that of the main house. A level below the suite is a room with sofas for viewing the jungle foliage in the garden below with the ocean just beyond. This secluded area gives you the feeling of being in the jungles without leaving the comfort of Villa Hermosa. The villa contains wonderful artwork and pottery throughout and features spectacular murals and stained glass windows. Comprehensively remodeled and decorated in 2004, Villa Hermosa provides its guests with an opportunity to relax and enjoy the serenity and luxury of Mexican resort living. |
